Gabions are high-strength wire grids for outdoor use. They are used to hold loose stones in shape and can be combined to form decorative or functional walls. Gabions are a frequently used construction element for noise protection walls and are often used as design elements in gardens and landscaping. Stainless steel gabions are the noble variant among the gabions. Because stainless steel not only gives gabions a noble appearance. Stainless steel gabions are also extremely insensitive to corrosion and therefore lose almost none of their functionality and strength even after many years.
When manufacturing gabions from stainless steel, the focus is clearly on longevity and corrosion resistance. For this reason, WDM Deutenberg only uses wires made of drawn stainless steel grades V2A or V4A (other grades on request). Alternatively, Galfan wire is also used, which is coated with a particularly resistant surface made of a zinc-aluminium alloy > 3,000h (or other qualities).
We have decades of experience in the production of individual components for the construction of flexible and functional gabions. In addition to standard formats from series production, we are also able to produce high-quality stainless steel gabions in any special shape. Examples of this are gabions as reinforced soil, gabions as diamond grids or elements for specially tailored wire baskets with a geometry that matches the landscape profile.
Spiral gabions are characterized by a spiral rod that permanently connects the individual gabion grids. They are ideal as stone baskets or gravel baskets. Especially stainless steel spiral gabions convince with their extremely high corrosion resistance, which guarantees permanent strength and stability. WDM Deutenberg manufactures spiral gabions made of stainless steel in a wide variety of dimensions. They are delivered disassembled and can be assembled on site in no time at all.
In the case of rod gabions, grid mats with loop-shaped ends are used. A rod is passed through these eyelets. It not only ensures a permanently stable and long-lasting connection, but also contributes to a distinctly even surface appearance. Gabions made of stainless steel from WDM Deutenberg are a permanently aesthetic solution, for example for the construction of noise protection walls or dry stone walls.
